The pure-hearted eighties throwback of a bass that is the Fender Boxer Series PJ-bass takes all its cues from the now-vintage Jazz Bass Special that helped define the era, right down to the juicy PJ pickup configuration. Those in the know will immediately recognise this classic retro piece as Guns ’N Roses bassist, Duff McKagen’s weapon of choice – although his came cloaked in black. This Limited Edition model offers a little more colour while the same comfortable and lightweight body bears the all of the same tonal flexibility thanks to the Precision Bass split-coil mounted in the middle position, and the Jazz Bass single-coil at the bridge. Just like the OG, the control section provides a standard issue set of volume pots and three-way switch alongside the exceptionally potent TBX tone pot. This fully Japanese modern-classic comes complete with a gig bag.
