Meinl’s CTA2WB is a fast, lightweight and compact beat ring. An idiophone instrument that is also often called a tambourine but is not. This is because a tambourine has a drumhead and a beat ring does not. The instrument consists of an 8-inch ring of wood with two rows of six notches. In it are a total of 12 times two steel shells with a nickel-silver finish. Long-term playing is easy as the beat ring is quite light.
