When it comes to brand-new Joe Bonamassa x Epiphone Signature models, it’s always a surprise to see which one of Joe’s many vintage guitars they’ve taken as a source of inspiration. This time, it’s his Gibson Les Paul Custom Black Beauty from 1959, which he picked up at Hauer Music during one of his guitar-based safaris through Centerville, Ohio (USA). This affordable replica not only has a highly recognisable look thanks to the antique ivory body and neck binding, but comes fitted with an authentic ’50s neck and matching neck profile for a historically-accurate feel when playing licks and riffs, completing yet another Epiphone JB Signature with brilliant value for money.
The Joe Bonamassa Black Beauty: CTS, Orange Drop & Switchcraft
Just as with so many of Epiphone’s most recent solid-body models, the Black Beauty Les Paul Custom features high-quality CTS potentiometers. For the condensers, things have been taken even further, since the electronics include genuine Orange Drop capacitors. Jack this Custom into your amp, and you’re free to switch up the brutal Les Paul sounds using the special Switchcraft pickup switch that controls the two ProBucker 2s in neck and mid position and the single ProBucker 3 at the bridge. Also, did we mention even the output jack has been provided by the ever-dependable Switchcraft as well? Last but far from least, this Joe Bonamassa signature includes a certificate of authenticity and a deluxe custom case with a gold-coloured interior and gilded hardware to match.
