The Mapex Black Panther Venom 14″ snare drum is 5.5″ deep and it’s these measurements, combined with the 6.85mm thick shell shaped by eight layers of maple, that result in an undeniably fat sound kept in check by triple-flanged hoops, a cylinder-drive snare strainer, 45° SONIClear bearing edges and double-sided b-lugs. Next to the snare itself, Mapex include a Remo Coated Ambassador batter head and a Clear Ambassador resonant head.
