Teaming up with Korn guitarist James Shaffer, Ibanez present the APEX30. This 7-string beast has been adorned with the ultimate tuning stability of an Evertune bridge, leaving you fully focussed on some acrobatic fret-work without fear of dropping out of tune. A solid studio and stage partner, the fitted Gotoh machine heads can be set just below the transfer point for eased note tapping during leads, and when they’re pulled back further, even the most heavy-handed rhythm parts retain perfect pitch.
The Ibanez APEX30: A Wizard II-7 Neck, Luminescent Side-Dots & DiMarzio Blaze Humbuckers
This Ibanez signature solid-body has been loaded with a few tasty modern tweaks, including a super-slim Wizard II-7 neck finished with a luxurious ebony fretboard that’s been wiped clean of position markers in favour of a set of luminescent side-dots that provide smooth guidance in the dark. To give die-hard fans of the APEX and K7 models the reliable feel and sound they expect, 24 jumbo frets have been fitted for a light playing feel, while a pair of renowned DiMarzio Blaze humbuckers translate the resonance of each of the seven strings with a surgical level of definition while adding a light mid-scoop, preventing the tone from getting too muddy, no matter the level of distortion.
