For anyone itching to start slapping out beats, Schlagwerk have created the X-One Series cajons. Made by hand in Germany, these beginner-friendly models combine a sturdy design with great sound and offer unrivalled value for money. This model, the CP160 X-One, is built using eight plies of birch that have been rounded off at the corners for a comfortable playing position, while the playing surface itself is also made of birch but has been adorned with a stylishly dark, Hard Coal Stripes print. Similar to snare drums, the crisp sound of the cajon stems from two fixed sets of 20-strand snare wires and is backed up the deep bass shaped by this percussive box, resulting in an overall sound that’s perfect for any modern style of music. In fact, the Schlagwerk CP160 X-One could even stand in for a drum kit when playing acoustic sets.
