The Carl Martin Hot Drive’n Boost doesn’t just coat your sound in the flavour of an overdriven valve amplifier, but grants one-button access to a massive 20 decibel boost. Next to your standard-issue Gain and Level controls, you get a Wave control pot for shaping the sound of the overdrive in more detail, and this smart pedal even features a clean output, so your uncoloured, clean sound can be sent to one amplifier, while the sweetly saturated, driven sound can be sent to another amplifier. Since the 9 Volt power input is internally converted to 12 Volts, you’re also getting plenty of headroom.
