Finding the right set of sticks for a drummer is like finding the right wand for a wizard. To make sure you get just the right thing, Fazley have kindly bundled together a pair of the three most commonly used sticks, in the most commonly used lengths and diameters, so you can try them all out. With beginners in mind, Fazley offer up the Fazley Stix Starterpack.
The Fazley Stix Starterpack
5A sticks are pretty much a drumming standard and can be used to play pretty much any style going. The 5B sticks are a little thicker, and are more built for the power demanded by pop and rock, while the 7A sticks are the thinnest in the pack, so their made for lighter, more delicate styles like jazz. It’s actually recommended to practice certain techniques and exercises with a set of 5Bs, since if you can nail them with heavier sticks, then playing with thinner sticks will immediately feel smoother and easier. Along with your three sets of sticks, Fazley have even thrown in a purpose-made stick bag and a mini practice pad that can be comfortably mounted on your thigh using the fitted fabric strap – perfect for honing those paradiddles in front of the TV.
