The Behringer Solina is a welcome recreation of the original Solina String Ensemble in desktop form. Originally built by Dutch organ company Eminent and better known as the ARP Solina, this analogue string synthesizer is perfect for weaving sonic tapestries and shapes a chorus-like effect that was hugely popular among big-name artists and producers back in the seventies.
The Behringer Solina
While the old Solina came in the form of a keyboard, the Behringer Solina comes in the form of a desktop module that you could even install in a Eurorack if you wanted to. Needless to say, it’s equipped with DIN-MIDI and USB-MIDI, and if you happen to know and love Jean Michel Jarre, this 21st-century Solina is great piece of kit for you since it’s based on the Eminent 310 Unique – an organ that Jarre is particularly fond of. And, to indulge fans of Oxygene and Equinox, Behringer have even built in a Small Stone-style phaser effect.
