The balancing point of this set of extra-long Fazley X5B drumsticks sits slightly further forward than a standard set of 5Bs to ensure a more powerful attack, increased volume, and enhance speed, precision, and control. Made from hickory, these sticks still have a normal 5B diameter while the wooden tip pulls a warm response out of the skins.

While the centre-of-gravity of a drumstick may not sound like a big deal, it can have a dramatic effect on the playing feel and sound of a set of sticks. Since, with a longer stick, the centre-of-gravity is pushed forwards, towards the tip, the power is more focussed since it not only comes from the force of the strike, but the weight of the stick itself, making them perfect for faster paced work. If you tend to play at a more average tempo, but still want that power, then a standard set of 5Bs might work better for you. Of course, it’s all a matter of playing with different sticks to find what suits your style best.
