Ibanez serve up the formidable SR505E: a classically shaped 5-string bass offering both active full-range fatness and classic passive warmth depending on the setting of the fitted EQ bypass switch. When set to passive, the result can be shaped using the volume and balance pots while the treble boost/cut pot acts as the tone control. In either setting, the pair of Bartolini BH2 soapbar pickups ensure that the full acoustic sound of this bass is amplified with a balanced clear high-end and prominent bottom-end.

Kick in the Ibanez Custom Electronics preamp, and the bass, mids, and trebles can be thickened or thinned as needed while a detailed mid-frequency switch offers more in-depth 250, 450 or 700Hz tweaking. Soundgear Series basses are notorious for offering highly adaptable tone without putting a back-breaking lump of a bass in your arms. As such, the SR505E has a familiar, lightweight and slim, rounded form, and the bridge has been finished with saddles that can be adjusted by up to 1.5mm in every direction for detailed string-space customisation and a more personalised playing feel.
