Thankfully, the long-term collaboration between Ibanez and Paul Gilbert of Racer X and Mr. Big fame continues in the single-minded form of the FRM300-PR Fireman. This time, it comes coated in an unapologetic shade of purple, honouring the body shape and striking a satisfying contrast with the black pickguard and dark ebony fretboard. Gig bag included.

The okoume body of the Fireman comes loaded with a three-pack of DiMarzio PG-13 mini-humbuckers, each fully focussed for an expressive, dynamic response and a warm and full tone that’s navigated using the five-way pickup switch. The short and tight feel of the 24.75″ scale length and set of 22 narrow-tall frets only add to the playing comfort provided by the near-seamless set-neck construction, while the fixed Gibraltar Performer bridge maintains the stable foundation.
