Jackson first customer was none other than legendary master-guitarist, Randy Rhoads. Ever since, the Jackson Rhoads model has been continually improved on to meet the demands of discerning metal-headed players. This particular RR24 Crackle model has a basswood body with neck-through construction, where the maple has been reinforced with graphite to counter warping caused by temperature and humidity shifts. To accommodate eased chord-play at the first couple of frets and ripping solo-work in the higher registers, this fast-feeling neck comes topped with a 12″ to 16″ compound radius ebony fretboard finished with 24 jumbo frets.
Seymour Duncan JB and ’59 Pickups for Ultimate Definition
What also stands out is that the RR24 has been equipped with the ever-popular, Seymour Duncan-made JB + ’59 pickup combo. This tone-enhancing duo has been a proven concept since the 1980s, offering a sweet vintage touch, ultimate definition and great versatility. So you can change up your sound as needed, there’s a standard 3-way toggle switch, with the single volume and tone controls keeping things fuss-free and practical. To complete the build, Jackson have mounted a Floyd Rose 1000 bridge that combines with a locking nut for optimum tuning stability, while the pearloid sharkfin inlays and reverse Jackson headstock finish things off with a little style.
