The classic low-wattage sound of Supro guitar amplifiers can be heard back on countless legendary and genre-defining LPs. The Blues King 10 gives you a 5 Watt combo and a big ’50s sound that breathes with rich history. What might be just as reassuring is that this amp comes supported by a few modern upgrades, including a built-in FAT Drive mode with a Pigtronix-made CMOS circuit, and an ever-welcome analogue spring reverb. In the preamp, a 12AX7 has been fitted while a 6V6 has been loaded into the power amp to produce that tried-and-true, full-blooded American tube guitar sound, while a two-button footswitch (not included) can be jacked in for hands free control over the boost or drive options. To finish, and just to reassure you of its ’50s roots, the Supro Blues King has been coated in a black Comet-style housing.
