Winner of the Turner Prize in 2001, British artist and musician Martin Creed is one of the most eminent artists of his generation. As a centrepiece of the Chorus festival, Southbank Centre invited artist Martin Creed to create a version of his Work No. 409 specially for the JCB glass lift in Royal Festival Hall, in which visitors? journeys are accompanied by the recorded voices of Voicelab singers, rising as the lift rises and descending as it falls.
