Literally and figuratively the black sheep of the 1950s Series, the Michael Kelly 54OP electric guitar foregoes tradition and offers forceful tone and matching looks. With a body made of sungkai and an open-pore finish, the guitar is well protected but remains able to ’breathe’ and fully assert its tonal characteristics. Meanwhile, the Rockfield SWC humbucker at the bridge delivers a fat foundation sound, and can be tapped for more via the push-pull tone control.
