Following up the high-grade single channel Pure Drive, GRBass presents the Dual Pre. This feature-packed two-channel preamp and overdrive in a stompbox is able to crack open fresh dimensions of bass sound. Both channels come with an extensive set of controls including a four-band equalizer, each with a two-way frequency switch for the trebles and low-mids, and by toggling the two footswitches lined up on the left, you can flip between channels or combine them. And this is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to what this GRBass-designed box of tricks can do.
The GRBass Dual Pre: Two-Channel Blend & Maximum Presence
For maximum effect when using the Drive switch, it’s recommended to set the gain of both overdrives at different levels to give yourself the option of blending a cleaner signal with a distorted signal, so that your sound sits snug in the mix with the rest of the band and none of your presence is lost in the overall mix. Using the Blend control pot, the optimum balance can be struck, while you still have two different modes to choose from. Want to send two different sound profiles through to the mixing desk? Simply hook both XLR line outputs up to the stage block.
Balanced Sound
To ensure that every note you play is delivered with balance, hit the Comp button and tweak the Thresh and Release controls to find your preferred level of treatment before setting the volume level of the effect. The Dual Pre even sets up your rig with a mono effects loop, so you can link through your other stompboxes and butter them up with a little preamplification and overdrive. GRBass even spare a thought for the bassist that prefers to hone lines in the comfort of their own home by fitting an Aux input for connecting up external audio gear alongside a headphone output so you can jam into the wee small hours.
