With these X-Series editions, Jackson grant multi-faceted guitarists affordable access to the notorious Dinky. Expect uber-smooth playability and all the features that make a genuine, purpose-built speed demon. The poplar body of the DK2X has been finished with a bolt on maple neck coated in satin-gloss for that butter smooth feel in the fret-hand, while the scarf-joined headstock and graphite reinforced neck guard against warping. The laurel fretboard has been finished with 24 frets and has been given a 12 to 16 inch compound radius, so you get a snug, rounder feel in the lower positions, and a flat, fast feel closer to the body.
Balanced Active Humbuckers & a Floyd Rose Special
Armed with a pair of active Jackson-designed humbuckers, this Dinky has been fully prepped for high-output, metalhead-grade performance backed up by a super-tight bass response and crystal-clear mids. Add the three-way switch and you’re set up with a surprisingly flexible guitar. The tuning, meanwhile is as solid as can be and no matter how extreme your tremolo work, since this model has been given the full Floyd Rose Special treatment – in other words, the notorious stability of a double-locking bridge. This has been teamed up with a locking nut and a set of 6-in-line tuners, while more Jackson signature detailing includes the sharpened headstock and traditional ’dome’ style tone and volume pots.
