Sabian’s HHX Series is known for its line-up of nicely dark-sounding cymbals and this 16″ medium brilliant model definitely lives up to that reputation. The B20 bronze and the extreme hammering pattern ensure a subtle dark undertone that’s then rendered slightly brighter and friendlier by the brilliant finish. With the large bell making sure there’s plenty of attack and mix-slicing power, this cymbal shapes a clearly present accent without ever overextending that presence.
