In 1992, the seventh incarnation of the classic Mike Matthews designed pedal was released, and now, the JHS Crimson is a loving ode to that much-sought-after Russian Red Army stompbox. In turn, the original pedal was based on the much-loved vintage effect pedals from the seventies that were designed by Matthews himself. Here, even the control pots have remained unchanged, so you adjust the fuzz level using the Distort pot, tweak the lightness and darkness using the Tone pot, and bring the result up to the right level using the Volume pot. A significant Josh Scott devised addition is a little red Mode button fitted to the side. Hit the red button and engage a lush and brutal mid-range boost.
