JHS offer adoring fans of the round, vintage tone of the classic Arbiter Fuzz with a Legends Of Fuzz Series reincarnation. The aptly named Smiley faithfully recreates the kind of germanium distortion first wielded by legends like Hendrix back in 1969. And now, that iconic bright, mid-heavy sound and sustain-rich bass can be placed on your very own pedalboard. Soften or harden the effect using the Volume pot, then use the Fuzz pot to dictate the intensity of the torn-up, distorted sound – simple. Clapton, Gilmore, Eric Johnson, and Jack White fans will find their dream tone wrapped up inside the humble and clean, old-school wedge housing, and for that little extra edge, Josh Scott has even fitted a cheeky little red Mode button to the side. Push it, and you get hit with a generous helping of hi-gain with some added gate to keep the tightness in check.
